TIME ATTACK x 2
Race the Clock
Time Attack is a competitive timed lapping event which allows for people to use their cars in a competitive event on the track. The event is safer than wheel to wheel racing, as there is passing with a signal (or point by) in designated zones only. The competitors best laptime of the day counts as their score, so there is no rush to be fast on every lap, and competitors should allow people to pass if they are caught during a session. The objective is to practice, give yourself some room, and then set a fastest lap.
We will be running two groups of 8 for 20 minutes sessions, with a 4 minute changeover between sessions. We will break the competitors into 4 laptime classes. Participants will be classed together based on similar lap times, and there will be 4 classes with 4 participants. The participants in each group will compete against each other to determine the “winner” of the group.
Each vehicle will need to be fitted with a GPS unit AND a MyLaps transponder. RMM will supply the transponder for these events. RMM has partnered with ARCA/WCMA and we will work together to run the time attack events. We will be using the WCMA Time Attack Rules, and the Time Attack with Passing format. ( see rule set attached Section 2.9. on page 21) This will give the participants twice as much seat time as the non-passing format.
With the ARCA/WCMA’s involvement, time attack points will be available provided you are an ARCA (or WCMA) member and you have a Time Attack license. For any member that isn’t a member of ARCA, memberships are able to be purchased at any time ARCA Membership .
For members that don’t have a Time Attack license, Maxx is able grant these. For more information, please see Time Attack – Guest passes can not be used for time attack events
