RMM New Driver Skills is best suited for drivers with minimal time behind the wheel, the 3 hour new driver skills course at RMM is designed to teach drivers how to properly operate a vehicle. Learning how to operate a vehicle while navigating busy traffic scenarios can sometimes be too overwhelming. This course eliminates the need to focus on traffic while learning basic driving skills. Our safe, controlled, and open environment allows drivers to fully focus on developing their operational skills of a motor vehicle. Drivers will learn proper usage of the accelerator and brake pedal, steering techniques, how/when to use mirrors, and how to set their seating positions to optimize their vision. Our specifically designed exercises will teach drivers proper accident avoidance, parking proficiency, and reversing. The mechanical knowledge portion includes how to check the engine fluids, correct tire pressures and how to check them, as well as how to change a flat tire. Rest assured you will leave having a greater knowledge of the basic mechanical upkeep required to have your vehicle always running in the best condition.
Driver requirements: Must be at minimum, an Alberta Class 7 license holder, or equivalent. Students should provide their own street-legal vehicle registered for road use or the Turn 17 Mustang Rental Program is available for this course.
